I am an experienced trial lawyer who defends both individuals and companies. Before starting this firm, I was a partner in the Washington, DC office of Baker Botts LLP, where I represented both public and private companies as well as individuals. My clients are often accused of serious wrongdoing, such as fraud or conspiracy, and many are targeted by the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
I have represented clients in a broad array of cases including those involving securities and accounting fraud, Medicare kickbacks, and RICO claims. On the civil side, I have handled complex civil litigation for clients in a wide variety of industries including energy, health care, insurance and financial services. My trial experience has run the gamut from smaller state-court cases to multi-week federal trials. I have also handled several appeals in the federal courts of appeal.
If you would like more detail about the work I’ve done, you can see a list of my experience in specific trial and appellate cases here.
In my real life, I wrangle two lovely and rowdy sons and manage to sneak in a little time biking, reading and cheering on the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Ravens.
